Go to the auto parts store and buy a can of spray Silicone.It costs less then $ 3- .You’ll have to remove the knobs and spray a little into the knob .Replace the knobs, turn a few times to saturate and you won’t have to repeat for another 6 months.
If you take them apart to attempt a Lube–you might cause a leak..
So just try a simple spray of Liquid Wrench..let SIT–about 10-minutes and work the KNOBS–to attain some ease of motion..
If that worked to loosen them–wash away the Liquid Wrench and finish with some simple lubricant..

..then keep up a maintainance on them.
You should be able to pull the control knob off. Check for built up grease around the valve stem.
